Areas of Concentration

Stress Management

Very briefly, the stress response is our body’s response to stressful situations. When frequently activated it can have a whole host of negative impacts on one’s life, including the development and exacerbation of mental health problems. That is why we believe it is crucial to learn skills and techniques developed to counteract chronic stress.

Learning to manage the stress response can have a profoundly positive impact on all individuals, and increase the likelihood of reaching a desired treatment outcome regardless of what one came into treatment to address. As such, we incorporate these skills into the framework of all our treatment plans if mutually agreed upon.

Depression and Anxiety

Depression and anxiety are two of the more common problem areas people report. Both can be severely debilitating and make even the smallest day to day task difficult to complete or even begin. However, the good news is, with time, both have a good rate of success in treatment.

We will work with you to identify the causes, conditions, and exacerbating factors of your depression and anxiety, and develop and implement strategies to address these areas. The evidence-based practices we draw from when treating depression and anxiety include ACT, CBT, Behavioral Activation, mindfulness skills, and supportive psychotherapy.

Trauma

Trauma is wide ranging and has a profound effect on more people than is often realized. In fact, it is likely that most people have been impacted by trauma in their lives to some degree or another. Unfortunately, at times people fail to recognize the impact of trauma on their lives because they believe their experiences aren’t severe enough to be considered traumatic. We believe that trauma is identified by how an experience or event impacts you, not what the actual experience or event was.

One of our first focuses when addressing trauma is identifying and understanding the way in which traumatic events have impacted you and validating your experience with them. Outside of this area, the course of treatment in addressing trauma is unique and specific to each individual. We strive to establish and maintain a safe, empathic, and trusting environment and therapeutic alliance, and will always respect and adhere to your comfort level in our work together.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

ARISE has multiple clinicians with strong experience in working with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Struggling with obsessive and intrusive thoughts and/or compulsive behaviors can be a significant barrier keeping folks from living their lives to their fullest potential. In fact, it can make even basic essential tasks in life challenging.

Our clinicians who work with OCD utilize a variety of effective treatment methods, including CBT, ACT, and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Using these evidence based modalities, ARISE clinicians will tailor treatment plans to each person’s own individual experiences and needs in order to help folks get on the path to feeling free to live their lives as they would like to.
